The two things we do
Getting a spring week
Which firms to go for and when they actually open, since most stop reading long before the deadline they advertise. CVs that get past the first screen. Online tests, video interviews, and mock interviews with someone who sat the real one in January.
Getting a university offer
Where to apply and whether it is realistic. The personal statement, which is three questions now and not one essay. Interviews, practised with someone who sat them recently. And results day, including the version where it goes wrong.
Nobody in the UK sells the first one at an hourly rate, which is why we lead with it. Everything people actually bring us.
What happens after the first hour
Most people who keep coming back do it because of what happens between sessions, not in them.
- Notes after every session: what we did, what you are doing before next time, and one thing that is going well.
- Drafts read and messages answered between sessions. That is not on the clock and we are not going to bill you for a WhatsApp.
- We keep track of your deadlines, and check in the day before one and on results morning.
- We remember the details. The firm you actually want, the mock you were dreading, which choice is the real one.
- No minimum and no commitment. People stop and come back, and that is completely fine.
After the third session we will ask whether this is actually useful, and we mean it. If it is not, we would rather change how we work than keep taking the money.
What is coming up
Deadlines are the easy part. What catches people out is the rolling stuff, where a firm stops reading long before the date it advertised.
Spring week applications are open and closing now. The Oxbridge deadline is 15 October at six in the evening, and the main UCAS one is 13 January.
What it costs
£40an hour
That is the price. We kept it low on purpose, because we were paying for things ourselves not very long ago.
Pay for the hour you had. Nothing upfront, no packages, and no minimum number of sessions. If an hour was not worth it, say so and we will not charge you for it.
Things we will not do
What we cannot promise
We will not write your personal statement. Universities check, and it has to sound like you anyway. We cannot promise you grades, offers or internships, and anyone who does is selling something. We do not share confidential interview questions from any firm.
Who else can help, for free
If you are at a state school and your household income is lower, Zero Gravity, upReach, SEO London and the Sutton Trust run genuinely good free programmes. Look at those first. They are excellent, and better funded than we are.
